Connections is a boutique located in the center of Downtown providing the latest in fashion and trends for both men and women. Whether you’re looking for tuxedoes or sweaters, Connections has it all! Connections has been in business on Allen St. since 1996 with a focus on connecting fashion trends from the world marketplace with the practical clothing needs of women and men in the State College area.
Bob Steinbach, the owner, has been in the State College clothing business since 1969, when he opened Bumble Bee on College Ave. Throughout his time Downtown, Bob has opened and operated several clothing stores allowing him to be part of the evolution of fashion, an industry that is constantly changing.
Connections has a unique selection of styles for women of all ages, from jeans and tops to dresses, coats, accessories and more. Many popular brands for women can be found in Connections including: Free People, Paper Crane, Encreme, Audrey & more. The men’s department is a bit more focused, offering career-wear such as suits, shirts, ties and shoes, while also specializing in tuxedo and suit rentals. For men, Connections sells modern and slim fit suits by designers like Michael Kors, Andrew Fezza and Bruno Piatelli. The tux department prides itself on having the widest selection of rentals in the area with tux’s by top designers in the industry. In the tux rental business, history and good service means a lot. Connections has developed many long-term relationships with its customers. For years young men have come in for prom and continue coming back for events as special as their wedding day!
