The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau (HVAB) is a close partner to the Downtown State College Improvement District in many initiatives over the years helping to make downtown State College a vibrant and welcoming destination. Now, we’re happy to say that our work will continue together in a more cohesive way now that they have moved in next door!
Moving to the district will help the adventure bureau stay connected with the Heart of Happy Valley and “provide an opportunity to map out a stronger future for the organization and its mission” as stated in their recent press release.
The relocation comes after a very difficult and challenging year for the tourism industry. Working through recovery and as travel resumes, the Board and staff feel strongly that the best use of resources at this time is fostering recovery of the hospitality industry and the business community through a focused investment in destination marketing – fully allocating limited resources where they are most needed. The HVAB hopes to see the strategic change will better their position and help drive local economic recovery and strengthen as a destination with competition for visitors being fierce.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with the HVAB and welcome the organization to Downtown State College.
