Experience the cool vibe of downtown State College during our monthly First Friday events.  A casual atmosphere features art, people-watching, mingling with friends, shopping, and dining at the diverse and delectable State College restaurants.  First Friday goers will experience after-hours access to galleries and shops, free bites and beverages, live music and entertainment, retail and restaurant specials, and more. To restart our First Friday events, Caledonia will be playing on the stage at the MLK Plaza from 5:30pm-8pm!

First Friday at the Downtown State College Improvement District

Come on downtown to visit local artist, Jean Giddings exhibit, located in our office, 127 South Fraser Street, during July’s First Friday! Jean’s work will remain on display for the public to enjoy until the end of August, 2021.

Lynn Anne Verbeck will be hosting a pottery make and take workshop from 6pm to 8pm. You’ll get the chance to make a magnetic mini-vase out of self hardening clay!
Create the vase at The Makery and take it home to decorate and glue on the magnet once dry!

3 Dots Downtown will feature a community engagement activity for a forthcoming mural by local artist Ann Tarantino. Join them to help shape this exciting piece of place-based public art in downtown State College! They’ll also host live music, in addition to their current exhibit, Faux Venus by Yiwei Leo Wang. And, as always- food, drink, and surprises.
They’ll also be joined by the crew from Placemaking US who are making a stop in State College on their cross-country Recovery Road Trip!
