First Friday at the Blue Brick Theatre

7 – 8:30pm

The 7 p.m. show at the Blue Brick Theatre will feature 3 long-form improv sets with an intermission in between each. Expect the unknown!
Taking the stage…
Hiram and an Aluminum Pole: Sam and Luke are authors of some (mostly ill) repute. This is a narrative improv group that uses improv to create and workshops a piece of literature in collaboration with the audience. Sometimes guest authors make an appearance.
Pardon My French: This group gives a snapshot of the places in our lives and the many characters that pass through them. Who knows what will be revealed!
See You Next Time: State College’s first all female- or non-binary-identifying improv group. Come join these wildflowers as they explore human connections and the power of shared interests. What kind of interest? A book club? Stamp collecting? Rabbit rearing? You decide!
Come down to the theatre Friday night! Expect the unknown.

Friday at the Downtown Improvement District
5 – 8pm

The Downtown State College Improvement District will be hosting an open house event to showcase our new visiting artist, Donna Lawrence, during this First Friday from 5-8pm. Please wear a mask when visiting.
Art has been a lifelong endeavor for Donna, who picked up her first paintbrush as a young girl. These days, she works in acrylic paint and draws much stylistic inspiration from Vincent Van Gogh. In Adventurous Views, Donna showcases acrylic renderings of naturals scenes that she has photographed in her travels. As she says, “there is beauty everywhere you go and my camera is with me at all times because you never know what might be out there waiting to be captured on film that I can turn into a painting.”
