Poetry Passport logoApril is National Poetry Month, so we are kicking it off this First Friday! Collect poems from the downtown businesses your own poetry book. You can pick up your “poetry passport” folder with a list of all participating locations. Check out the list below, and stay tuned for more locations! Wine, Cheese and Pop-Up Shop…OH MY!

harpersCome celebrate with Harper’s as they’re moving into their new location. While not setup quite yet, they will be having a pop-up shop with their products in their new location: 224 E. College Ave. For the pop-up shop you can enter through Centennial Way, directly across from the Tavern. Stop in between 5 p.m.-8 p.m.

Pop-Up Pottery Sale

DSC_0287Woskob Family Gallery is moving out of their space for this First Friday, and is hosting Penn State’s Pottery Club in a pop-up pottery shop in the downtown in front of the Allen Street Gates from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.  See all the unique pottery for purchase!

Artist Reception at The State Theatre

Head over the The State Theatre for featured artist, Young Sook Kim. There will be a meet and greet reception in the lobby between 5 – 8pm!

 

Artist Reception at Webster’s

Stop by Wealex hess webstersbster’s Bookstore and Cafe for an artist reception with Alex Hess from 6-7 p.m. “Alex Hess is a premiere artisan illustrator that focuses on creating what would be best described as intricate illustrations influenced by retro compositions and stylistic traits. Inspirations range from vintage Americana, Art Nouveau, Pop Art, Art Deco, Street Art, and even contemporary poster artists in the ever revolving print world.”

Jam out with Good Vibes Jazz Quartet in front of the First National Bank on South Allen Street from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.  They will be performing a variety of music genres from country, to Latin, to Dixieland! There’s something for everyone.

Performing Arts School of Central Pennsylvania
