The Nittany Valley Writers Network will meet on Tuesday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m., in the Schlow Library Community Room, 211 S. Allen St., State College. Writer and book coach, Joshua Doležal, will discuss “How Folks Ballads Can Help You Write Better Stories.”

Doležal’s essays have appeared in more than fifty national magazines, including The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Kenyon Review, and The Missouri Review. His memoir, Down from the Mountaintop: From Belief to Belonging, was shortlisted for the William Saroyan International Prize. He produces a weekly newsletter, The Recovering Academic, which includes notes on life after academe, exclusive interviews, original creative work, and craft resources.
