“Safe SCUBA Diving Practices” by Jim Lapenta

Jim Lapenta is not only the author of both SCUBA: A Practical Guide for the New Diver and SCUBA: A Practical Guide to Advanced Level Training, but he has also helped to co-author training material for SDI, TDI, and SEI. Based out of Western Pennsylvania, Jim has made his mark on the SCUBA community by training hundreds of divers and by managing “Scuba Accidents and Risk Management Techniques for Divers,” a Facebook group with almost 30,000 members that is dedicated to increasing awareness to the risks associated with SCUBA diving.
Jim Lapenta will be visiting Penn State – University Park on Friday, April 12th at 7pm to give a presentation on “The Failure of the Buddy System” and “Dive Planning – When Does the Actual Planning Start?” in HUB 233A. This event is FREE and open to the public! In addition, Jim will be selling signed copies of both of his books at a discounted price.
Parking is available for $1 per hour in the HUB Parking Deck on the corner of Shortlidge Road and Pollock Road.
