This year, the Downtown State College Improvement District is taking part in The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Christmas Assistance Program.
Visit us at 127 South Fraser Street, where you can choose a child’s name from the tree and purchase one or a few new gifts listed on the tag/s. Then, return the unwrapped gifts to our office OR The Salvation Army of Centre County by 12/10 – attaching the tag to the outside of the package.
Some helpful tips:
- Feel free to include gift wrap. The Salvation Army doesn’t wrap the gifts.
- Please do not include a personal note to the child. They are receiving these gifts from their parents, but you have our thanks and the gratitude of parents who wouldn’t have been able to give these presents without your help!
- Please do not include monogrammed items or gifts featuring the child’s name, Some parents have requested that we use an alias for various reasons.
The Salvation Army has partnered with Walmart for the “Registry for Good”. As a result you can shop from the registry online here.
