The Downtown State College Improvement District office is excited to welcome a new art installation at 127 S Fraser Street. This exhibit comes from local acrylic painter, Donna Lawrence with works based around nature’s beauty.
Growing up in Easton, Pennsylvania, Lawrence was always interested in art, playing with crayons and graphic design in her free time. Her father introduced her to painting when she was young, showing her paint by numbers. She fell in love with the craft quickly.
After graduating from Kutztown University in Communications Design, Lawrence went on to work in Washington D.C. for a variety of companies in their graphic teams. Lawrence would start painting in a more serious manner, when she found a love for acrylic paint. She found inspiration in Claude Monet’s work, a French painter known in the Impressionist Era of art. Other inspiration came from Vincent Van Gogh, famous painter of the Mona Lisa. Outside of painting, Donna Lawrence also has an interest in photography.
Donna Lawrence’s art pieces will be featured at the Downtown State College Improvement District and open to the public Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm beginning on November 1 through the end of January.
