After studying English and American Literature at the University of Connecticut, Jean returned to her true love of “making things”. She began her career as a weaver, something she could do at home when her children were small. Since then, Jean has gradually expanded to papermaking, monoprinting, nature printing, water media and most recently, collage painting.

Jean said “I am interested in trying new techniques, especially those which create texture, and in using color to create space, mystery and ambiguity”. Her process is intuitive, which is to say that she doesn’t typically start with a definite plan.

Jean has been fortunate enough to have exhibited in the Central Pennsylvania Festival of Arts, Guild of Craftsmen, The State Theatre and many more. Come on downtown to visit Jean’s exhibit, located in our office, 127 South Fraser Street. The exhibit will also be featured during July’s First Friday, July 2, 5pm-8pm.
